Colin Farrell is joining forces with the Russo brothers for the action-thriller 'Ordained' (Exclusive).
Farrell is set to star as Father Roy Craig, a priest with a violent past who finds himself targeted by hitmen, corrupt cops, and gangsters after performing last rites on a mob boss who miraculously survives. The project, based on an upcoming comic book from publisher Bad Idea, is currently in the mix of multiple studios and streamers. John Wick scribe Derek Kolstad was announced as writing the script last year.
Farrell will be producing the film alongside his sister, Claudine Farrell, and their Chapel Place banner. The Russo brothers, along with Angela Russo-Otstot and Michael Disco, will produce for their AGBO banner. Farrell is coming off of his Emmy nomination for HBO's 'The Penguin' and is expected to reprise the villainous role in Matt Reeves' upcoming 'The Batman' sequel. He recently starred in 'Ballad of a Small Player' for Netflix and the Sony-released feature 'A Big Bold Beautiful Journey'.
AGBO and the Russos are in post-production on 'Avengers: Doomsday', with additional photography expected to take place in the spring before cameras roll on 'Avengers: Secret Wars' in the summer. The company recently boarded Lionsgate's 'John Rambo' movie and has Omar Sy set to star in 'Mercenary', a TV series spinoff based on the 'Extraction' films.
