The air buzzed with excitement as thousands gathered in Kasese for the highly anticipated Omusinga Charles Wesley Mumbere Iremangoma Birthday Run. Obusinga Prime Minister Benson Kule Baritazari, flagging off the 21km race, praised the impressive turnout, highlighting the strength of Rwenzururu cultural heritage and the growing unity within the kingdom. One of the OBR leaders emphasized, 'This run is more than a sporting event; it symbolizes our collective spirit as the Rwenzururu people. We are honored to see our sons and daughters, young and old, celebrating the Omusinga's life through fitness and togetherness.'
Runners shared their excitement, describing the event as both fun and challenging, especially the 21km route that weaved through hilly terrain, offering breathtaking views of the Rwenzori ranges. Many expressed their eagerness to participate annually.
