These boots, crafted from faux leather, took between three and five days to make and were tailored to Bani's needs. The boots, featuring soft gel padding and Velcro fastenings, provided the stability and comfort she required to regain her mobility.
Bani's recovery was a testament to the power of veterinary medicine and rehabilitation. An international team of veterinary experts, alongside Wildlife SOS's in-house veterinarians, employed a range of treatments, including intensive physiotherapy, Ayurvedic oil massages, laser therapy, homeopathy, hydrotherapy, and electroacupuncture. Her strength and balance improved, and she eventually started walking, albeit with a limp. By April 2024, Bani had regained her ability to move independently without any support.
Today, Bani proudly trots around her enclosure at India's first Elephant Hospital in Agra, showcasing her newfound mobility.
