Could On have accidentally created the ultimate everyday hiking shoe? It's a bold claim, but let's dive in! On, a brand known for its urban-focused footwear, has just unveiled the Cloud 6 Geo Waterproof, a shoe that seems to be hinting at something much more adventurous.
Published just 2 hours ago, this shoe is marketed for city use, but its features suggest it's ready to tackle tougher environments.
The Cloud 6 Geo Waterproof is designed for rugged outdoor use. The shoe is built with a waterproof polyester upper, a multilayered mudguard, and a toecap made from ballistic nylon. On says the design is “inspired by a topographic map.”
But here's where it gets interesting: the shoe incorporates On’s Speedboard technology, similar to the plates found in high-performance running shoes. This enhances stability and agility on uneven surfaces. It also has a Missiongrip outsole for reliable traction.
And this is the part most people miss: The no-tie toggle laces offer adjustability on the trail, which also makes it easy to take the shoes on and off.
Availability and Pricing:
The Cloud 6 Geo Waterproof is “coming soon” and will retail for $190. It will be available in two colors, “Limelight and Safari” and black.
What do you think? Does this sound like a hiking shoe in disguise? Would you consider using these for your outdoor adventures? Share your thoughts in the comments!
