Joining her in Thailand is the remarkable Elreen Ann Ando, a two-time Olympian who recently claimed bronze at the World Championships in Forde, Norway. Ando will be competing in the women's 63kg category, adding even more star power to the Filipino contingent.

Monico Puentevella, president of the Samahang Weightlifting ng Pilipinas (SWP), shared his vision for the team's future. He emphasized that the SEA Games and Asian Games serve as crucial stepping stones towards the ultimate goal: the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. Puentevella added, "Win or lose, our focus is on preparing for LA. The lifters must prove their worth, or they might just miss out on this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity."
